What causes impaired balance?
Difficulty with balance can occur due to another neurologic condition. It can also occur due to weak muscles, inactivity, decreased sensation, or inefficient balance reactions.
Why work with a therapist on your balance?
Impaired balance increases risk of falls, which can lead to other injuries and complications. Physical and occupational therapists can assess the factors that are impacting your balance and work with you to address them, leading to improved balance and decreased fall risk.
